We love Science at Fordham and enjoy holding an annual Science week and Science Fair. We are proud to say that we have been recognised for our high quality teaching and learning of Science and have achieved the Primary Science Quality Mark (PSQM).
Our Science Lead, Mrs. Nicholson works closely with the Science Ambassadors organising a range of activities for the school. This year's Science Week was held in June to coincide with National Insect Week.
We were so excited when the caterpillars from Insect Lore arrived in Early Years - they have been so excited observing them daily and noticing all the changes. They can't wait for them to turn into butterflies!
The whole school enjoyed Science Week. The children took part in a range of activities such as:
Mouldy bread / hygiene test; grow cress; campfire popcorn; baking chocolate chip cookies following different recipes; baking bread following different recipes; hoop throw and pooters to identify minibeasts; bird watching and special visitors from the science professional world. We ended the week with our first ever Science Fair!
