At Fordham CE Primary School, we place reading for pleasure at the heart of our Curriculum and want to create readers for life.

Our Recommended Reads:

In addition, the book lists below have been created by Ashley Booth - we agree that these books are great for inspiring children to read for pleasure.

*These lists should not be seen as a challenge - this would be equivalent to one book a week! Spend some time reading the blurbs and choose a book you'd like to start with. Lots of the books are the first in a series so pupils can get hooked on a certain character or setting and read sequel after sequel.

The Book Trust has put together a list of books from climate change to animal conservation that encourage children to think about and discuss pressing issues about the environment.
