Modern Foreign Languages
Children are given access to different languages throughout their time in school. Even the children in Reception answer the register in different languages!
However, once we get to KS2 there is a more formal expectation on language acquisition and we have chosen French as our main language to study.
French is taught on a weekly basis by class teachers. Staff work together, supposed by the ilanguages scheme of work, to ensure continuity and progression throughout KS2. Lessons are presented in a fun and active way using games, songs, video clips and presentations. The children also have lots of opportunities to develop their conversation skills and present their learning to an audience.

We believe learning French supports general language and literacy development and complements other aspects of the curriculum. At Fordham, firm foundations are set for further foreign language study at secondary school.
