Collective Worship

This year we have based our collective worship using material from The Diocese of Ely which consists of a theme, relevant Bible reading, a message, activity and prayers.

The value in an individual act of worship is determined by the Bible text studied that week. Each half term will contain acts of worship on all 6 new Christian values (Hope, Community, Dignity, Wisdom, Joy and Peace) and links closely with our school values: FLOURISH, FAITH and FRIENDSHIP.

Below are some examples of Collective worship that we have shared this half term:

We also enjoy a weekly celebration of music where we are taught a song:

Once again, Jesus spoke to the people. This time he said, "I am the light for the world! Follow me, and you won't be walking in the dark. You will have the light that gives life' John 8:12

Millions of adults and children in churches and schools right across the world pray a prayer as part of their worship that Jesus himself taught his followers. We call it 'The Lord's Prayer'. The Lord's Prayer is a prayer of hope for the world. To help us understand the different parts of the Lord's Prayer, we have been practicing it in British Sign Language.

We are very lucky to have the support of Revd. David Cleugh who is the Rector for the Three Rivers Group (the parishes of Chippenham, Fordham, Isleham, Kennett and Snailwell). He is also a member of our school Governing Body. We are also supported by Revd. Sue Potts and Revd.Anna Jones who visits weekly to lead Collective Worship each Wednesday. *During Covid, these have been via video.

Throughout the year, we have a range of visitors and events that support our Christian vision. We explore other faiths during RE lessons so that children are taught to question and enquire about the world around them.

Our Collective Worship is interactive and creative and we welcome visitors including Light and Life, Richard Liddington and David Tinkler amongst others who teach our children about Christian values. *During Covid, these have been via video.
